The Formation of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Indianapolis Chapter, Inc.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women was established to unite women nationwide in creating a leadership forum aimed at fostering professional development, personal growth, and economic well-being for Black women. This is achieved through a range of programs and activities that align with the interests of the members and the broader community's needs.

Indianapolis Attorney Fay Williams was instrumental in founding the Indianapolis chapter. The inaugural installation of officers took place in the fall of 1982, with Jatrice Gaither serving as the first Chapter President. Since that time, we have remained committed to our core mission: to unapologetically advocate on behalf of Black women and girls, promoting leadership development and gender equity in health, education, and economic empowerment.

Our vision is a world where Black women and girls live free from socioeconomic inequity, where opportunity and justice are accessible to all.

Our chapter is a vibrant collective of 100 diverse women—mothers, professionals, entrepreneurs, leaders, caregivers, and advocates—united by a common purpose: to create a future rooted in social equity.

Advocacy serves as the foundation and heartbeat of NC100BW, driving meaningful programs that focus on...

  • Education

  • Mentoring

  • Economic Empowerment

  • Personal and Professional Development

  • Health

  • Public Policy and Advocacy
